About Purely Organic

Purely Organic teas was established as a Fairtrade, organic business in 2005, founded by Rebecca and Mike Peck who have years of experience in running import and distribution businesses.

After several visits to Sri Lanka, Rebecca and Mike became committed to the idea of setting up an ethical business to import high quality, organic tea, with profits directly benefiting the community which originally produced it.

"we wanted to supply a range of high quality organic teas and infusions for tea lovers to enjoy and where the people who produce it also benefits. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful but very poor country.  After visiting the Tea estate and learning about Fairtrade from people themselves we learned that it is a win win situation"

Purely Organics' teas are supplied from a single estate - Greenfield Bio Tea Estate which is renowned for its expertise and their commitment to the local community. As well as ensuring fair wages for employees, a share of profits (Fairtrade Premium) is given to the estate's social committee for community projects. Examples of projects include funding a community centre, improve local housing and installation of electricity.
